Josh McConkey for Congress
Josh McConkey is a colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves who ran for Congress in the Republican primary in North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District. A physician by training, Colonel McConkey and his consultant approached me to create their brand and visual identity. He wanted something unique, that reflected his personality and life experiences, and that could have a shelf life beyond a congressional campaign. After several rounds of feedback, Josh and I landed on a mark that incorporates flight wings to reflect his time in the Air Force, a spear to represent his forthcoming book, Be the Weight Behind the Spear, and a military tab as a ubiquitous symbol for his fellow service members. Taken as a whole, the mark is a stylized caduceus, which is the symbol for the United States Medical Corps.
